Born and raised in Maryland within a family of attorneys, judges, and legal professionals, I presumed criminal law would be my calling as well. However, during my senior year of college while studying for the LSATs and envisioning my future, I realized that what truly drew me towards becoming an attorney was not a passion for law, but rather my passion for cultivating meaningful relationships, hearing people’s stories, and serving as an advocate on their journeys towards self-actualization.
Since transitioning from a legal perspective to a mental health focus, I have over six years experience working with adults and adolescents, across various settings, addressing a diverse range of mental health challenges including: anxiety, depression , obsessive compulsive disorders, eating disorders and body image issues, relational and sexual concerns, trauma, perfectionism, addiction, mood disorders, and grief.
My work is grounded in my values:
1. Connection: I believe in the power of connection to heal and facilitate meaningful change. I prioritize building a strong, trusting, and genuine therapeutic alliance where you feel safe, heard, seen and understood.
2. Curiosity: I approach each person with curiosity while helping you to understand thoughts, feelings and behaviors without judgment. Through self-exploration, we can discover new practical ways to move forward.
3. Compassion: I lead with empathy and kindness, creative a space where you can feel safe to be vulnerable and trust that you will be met with understanding and openness. Comparison provides the foundation for you to navigate life challenges while living in alignment with your values.
4. Playfulness: Play is at the epicenter of my work. While we are tackling heavy themes, I find that channeling play can help uncover new perspectives, foster resilience, and reconnect with our innate sense of creativity and joy.
